These classes will focus on “how to” take care of your newborn. You will receive clinical and practical information to assist new parents to care for their newborn and family.

Baby Care & Breastfeeding Basics Class Online registration for this event.
Who it’s for: This three-hour class is for expecting parents, new parents and anyone hoping to learn more about infant care. For expecting mothers and partners, we recommend this class be taken during the 2nd trimester.

Details: This three-hour class prepares parents to understand their new infant’s needs.

The class includes information about:
  • Procedures following the baby’s birth
  • Understanding normal newborn characteristics
  • Bathing, diapering, burping, holding, and swaddling
  • Infant soothing techniques
  • Infant safety and nursery equipment
  • Latching on
  • Common breastfeeding concerns and problems
  • How to know when to call the pediatrician
A list of essential items and products to purchase for baby’s care will also be provided. Fee is $75 per couple.

Advance Breastfeeding for Mom, Partner or Support Person> Online registration for this event.

Who it’s for: Expectant parents that wish to prepare for pumping, bottle feeding and return to work. We recommend you take this class at week 34, 35 or 36. This class will supplement Momease Baby Care and Breastfeeding Basics class to develop a successful breasting plan.

Details: This two-hour class teaches the basic anatomy and physiology involved in breast milk production, breastfeeding, and the basic information for choosing when to use a breast pump.

  • Mothers and partner will learn what to expect during the baby’s first month, as well as what to do if things do not go as planned.
  • Class will discuss what preparation and supplies are helpful.
  • Provide pump demonstrations. Mothers will also receive instruction on pumping strategies for the early weeks and returning to work.
  • Partner or support person will be given tips on “How to Support” the breastfeeding Mom.

Breastfeeding 101 for Breastfeeding FamilyOnline registration for this event.

Who it’s for: This 90-minute class is for new moms who are currently breastfeeding. We recommend this class be taken within the first 6 weeks after birth. Dad, partners and support person are welcome to attend and will benefit from learning more about breastfeeding techniques.

Details: This two-hour class will cover the most common breastfeeding topics in a fun and engaging class as the instructor offers practical tips that can be implemented right away by new breastfeeding moms. The class includes information on the following:

  • Building a strong milk supply
  • Additional Latching and positioning
  • Overcoming common hurdles like engorgement, soreness, and plugged ducts
  • Incorporating your partner into your breastfeeding routine
  • Preparing to return to work as a breastfeeding mom
  • Balancing pumping and breastfeeding
  • A list of recommended items and products to purchase for breastfeeding will also be provided.

Fee is $50 per couple.
Infant CPR Group Class – Online registration for this event.

Who it’s for: Expectant parents, new parents, other family members and childcare professionals, including private nannies.

Details: The Infant & Child CPR class is taught at various office locations. This two-hour American Heart Association (AHA) course life-saving infant and child CPR skills.

Participants learn:
      • How to recognize the signs of choking
      • How to prevent the most common fatal injuries
      • How to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
      • Up-to-date infant CPR procedures
Fee is $75 per couple.

Private Infant CPR Class – Online registration for this event.

Who it’s for: Expectant parents, new parents, other family members and childcare professionals, including private nannies.

Details: Our private Infant and Child CPR class is taught either at the client’s home or office. This two-hour American Heart Association (AHA) course life-saving infant and child CPR skills.

Participants learn:
      • How to recognize the signs of choking
      • How to prevent the most common fatal injuries
      • How to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
      • Up-to-date infant CPR procedures
Fee is $75 per person. There is a minimum of 4 people and maximum of 6 people
Sibling Class – Online registration for this event.

Who it’s for: This class is for children ages 3 to 10 years, including parents. We recommend you and your child take this class during the last trimester of your pregnancy.

Details: Welcoming a new baby into your home can be both exciting and scary for an older sibling. Our sibling class helps prepare children for this life-changing event.

Topics covered include:
      • How it feels to become a big brother or sister
      • Age-appropriate discussions about the birth process
      • What to expect from a new baby
      • A visit to our Women’s Center and a peek-a-boo of the nursery
Big brother or sister will both receive a gift and create a gift for their new baby sibling. Fee is $45 for parents and one child, plus $10 each additional child.
Infant Car Seat Safety DemonstrationOnline registration for this event.

Who it’s for: This class is intended for new and expectant parents and others who transport infants.

Details: You will learn and demonstrate the appropriate car seat to use for your child from birth to one year old.

The class includes information on the following:
        • How to properly restrain your baby’s car seat in a vehicle
        • How to select the best and safest car seat for your vehicle, child and personal needs
        • Understand the different parts of the car seat and their purpose
        • How to properly secure your baby in a car seat
        • Reviewing after-market products are and if they’re useful and safe
        • When’s the appropriate time to upgrade one car seat to another
The instructor will NOT install any car seats, but will provide the information for successful installation! Fee is $25 for couple or Free for Momease “New Parents” members. Limited to 10 couples.    
Parents with Pooches Class – Online registration for this event.

Who it’s for: Expectant parents who own a dog.

Details: Approximately 60% of all households have a pet! Is your home prepared to house both a newborn and a pet? This class is taught by a Momease pet consultant, who will provide information on:

            • Up-to-date procedures on how to introduce your pet to your new baby
            • How to manage pets with a newborn.
            • Introducing pets to baby’s smell and sounds
            • Becoming aware of your pet’s protective signs
            • How to determine and manage the animal’s temperament with a baby.

Parents with Pooches Intake Form

This two-hour class provides new parents with creative techniques to provide a healthy, safe and loving environment for parent, newborn and pet. Fee is $50 per couple.
