These classes will focus on “how to” take care of your newborn, You will receive clinical and practical information to assist new parents to care for their newborn and family.

Baby Care & Breastfeeding Basics ClassOnline registration for this event.

Who it’s for: This class is for expecting parents, new parents and anyone hoping to learn more about infant care. For expecting mothers and partners, we recommend this class be taken during the 2nd trimester.

Details: This three-hour class prepares parents to understand their new infant’s needs. The class includes information about:

  • Procedures following the baby’s birth
  • Understanding normal newborn characteristics
  • Bathing, diapering, burping, holding, and swaddling
  • Infant soothing techniques
  • Infant safety and nursery equipment
  • Latching on
  • Common breastfeeding concerns and problems
  • How to know when to call the pediatrician

A list of essential items and products to purchase for baby’s care will also be provided. Fee is $75 per couple.

Breastfeeding 101Online registration for this event.

Who it’s for: This class is for moms who are currently breastfeeding and anyone hoping to learn more about the practical aspects and tactics of breastfeeding. We recommend this class is taken within the first 6 weeks after birth. Dads and partners are welcome to attend and can also benefit from learning more about breastfeeding techniques.

    Details: This two-hour class will cover the most common breastfeeding topics in a fun and engaging class as the instructor offers practical tips that can be implemented right away by new breastfeeding moms.

    The class includes information on the following:

    • Building a strong milk supply
    • Latching and positioning
    • Overcoming common hurdles like engorgement, soreness, and plugged ducts
    • Incorporating your partner into your breastfeeding routine
    • Preparing to return to work as a breastfeeding mom
    • Balancing pumping and breastfeeding
    • A list of recommended items and products to purchase for breastfeeding will also be provided.
      Fee is $50 per couple.

    Infant CPR Group Class – Online registration for this event.

    Who it’s for: Expectant parents, new parents, other family members and childcare professionals, including private nannies.

    Details: The Infant & Child CPR class is taught at various office locations. This two-hour American Heart Association (AHA) course life-saving infant and child CPR skills. Participants learn:

    • How to recognize the signs of choking
    • How to prevent the most common fatal injuries
    • How to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
    • Up-to-date infant CPR procedures

    Fee is $75 per couple.

    Private Infant CPR Class – Online registration for this event.

    Who it’s for: Expectant parents, new parents, other family members and childcare professionals, including private nannies.

    Details: Our private Infant and Child CPR class is taught either at the client’s home or office. This two-hour American Heart Association (AHA) course life-saving infant and child CPR skills. Participants learn:

    • How to recognize the signs of choking
    • How to prevent the most common fatal injuries
    • How to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
    • Up-to-date infant CPR procedures

    Fee is $75 per person. There is a minimum of 4 people and maximum of 6 people


    Fatherhood Class – Online registration for this event.

    Taught by veteran father who will work with expectant fathers, to addresses adjustment issues and concerns relating to family relationships.

    How to assist with breastfeeding, diaper changing, and handling sleep deprivation.

    We’ll also discuss the the joys and challenges of being a father.

    The class requires a $20 deposit and which will be refunded after completing the class or use the credit for any other classes.

     

    Sibling Class – Online registration for this event.

    Who it’s for: This class is for children ages 3 to 10 years, including parents. We recommend you and your child take this class during the last trimester of your pregnancy.

    Details: Welcoming a new baby into your home can be both exciting and scary for an older sibling. Our sibling class helps prepare children for this life-changing event. Topics covered include:

    • How it feels to become a big brother or sister
    • Age-appropriate discussions about the birth process
    • What to expect from a new baby
    • A visit to our Women’s Center and a peek-a-boo of the nursery

    Big brother or sister will both receive a gift and create a gift for their new baby sibling Fee is $45 for parents and one child, plus $10 each additional child.


    Parents with Pooches Class – Online registration for this event.

    Who it’s for: Expectant parents who own a dog.

    Details: Approximately 60% of all households have a pet! Is your home prepared to house both a newborn and a pet? This class is taught by a Momease pet consultant, who will provide information on:

      • Up-to-date procedures on how to introduce your pet to your new baby
      • How to manage pets with a newborn.
      • Introducing pets to baby’s smell and sounds
      • Becoming aware of your pet’s protective signs
      • How to determine and manage the animal’s temperament with a baby.

    Parents with Pooches Intake Form

    This two-hour class provides new parents with creative techniques to provide a healthy, safe and loving environment for parent, newborn and pet. Fee is $50 per couple.
