Two decades, one mission
From a single childbirth class in 2004 to a team trusted by seven hospitals — here's how MomEase grew.
- 2004
MomEase begins
Carolyn Alexander founds MomEase in Alexandria, Virginia, with a simple mission: turn the fear around birth into confidence through honest, evidence-based education.
- 2006–2010
Sibley Memorial years
MomEase instructors serve as childbirth educators at Sibley Memorial Hospital, redesigning the hospital's prenatal curriculum with InJoy Birth and Parenting Education materials alongside the parent-education director and staff.
- 2010s
Trusted by institutions
Corporate and institutional clients — including March of Dimes and the George Washington University Health Plan — bring MomEase in for classes, infant and child CPR training, customized postpartum benefits, and corporate baby showers.
- Today
A full continuum of care
Partnerships with seven area hospitals and three birth centers, a board of medical advisors, and a diverse team — with over 12,748 couples and their families served, and Denver on the horizon.
Tools we built for parents
When the right resource didn't exist, we made it — some at a hospital's request, all still rooted in the same evidence-based care.
The Progression Guide
An 8"×8" foldout that opens to a 24" wall chart — visual fetal development month by month, with illustrations, exercises, and fitness tips for each stage of pregnancy.
The Baby Bathrobe
A 100% terry-cloth bathrobe designed for after-bath — water-absorbent and gentle, made for drying newborns and for infant massage.
Measure & Relaxation CD
Created at Sibley Memorial's request with our childbirth educators, midwives, and labor doulas — visualizations and relaxation techniques to ease mothers through the stages of labor.
