Momease Student & Team Meeting with Senior Doula
Description
Monthly meeting to discuss some of your critical topics with Students & Team doulas. They will meet with a Senior Doula to review the client’s past birth and discuss the outcomes and hospital or birth center procedures.
Meeting from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm on 3rd Wed of each month.
Suggested Topics:
- How do you engage a client’s partner if they don’t want to participate?
- When should you suggest the best time to have a laboring client go to the hospital
- What are the best techniques to get moms into spontaneous labor to avoid an induction (see attached file)
- What do we discuss during the prenatal visits?
- Tips for organizing your doula practice.
Monthly Recruitment Meeting for Birth Workers
We are hiring labor and postpartum doulas. We now have a new office space in Alexandria, VA, and will offer new classes and services at Momease Pregnancy, Breastfeeding and Wellness Center
We are looking for labor doulas who have completed over 15 births in the DMV.
Postpartum doulas that have worked with more than 20 families in the DMV
If you are a new labor doula with fewer than 10 births, we also offer a mentorship program. We are only accepting 3 new student doulas.

When Survivors Give Birth
Who it’s for:
Healthcare Educators, Doulas, OBs, Midwives, and RNs in the hospital and office settings.
Details:
This class focuses on building knowledge and awareness of the impacts of Sexual Abuse on a birthing person.
Learning new ways to support, counsel, strategize, and empathize with a survivor will ultimately bring the hope of making a survivor a thriver.
This knowledge will benefit your clients, patients, and coworkers by creating a space that promotes safety, compassion, and understanding.
Course Topics:
- Definitions and data of Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA), maltreatment, and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE)
- Discover the impacts of CSA on the child, adult, pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.
- Review at the potential triggers and clinical challenges for a trauma survivor.
- Learn the application of standard childbirth preparation techniques for CSA survivors with the proper language for caregivers, birth planning, doula support, and coping strategies.
We will end the day by building knowledge around the postpartum and breastfeeding journey for a CSA survivor.
