Details: This class focuses on building knowledge and awareness of the impacts of Sexual Abuse on a birthing person. Learning new ways to support, counsel, strategize, and empathize with a survivor will ultimately bring the hope of making a survivor a thriver.This knowledge will benefit your clients, patients, and coworkers by creating a space that promotes safety, compassion, and understanding. Course topics: Definitions and data of Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA), maltreatment, and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE). Discover the impacts of CSA on the child, adult, pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. Review at the potential triggers and clinical challenges for a trauma survivor. Learn the application of standard childbirth preparation techniques for CSA survivors with the proper language for caregivers, birth planning, doula support, and coping strategies.
